Deer Permit Numbers Dwindle as Season Approaches.
The Nebraska Firearm deer permits are disappearing rather quickly with the season a little over one week away. The season begins on November 15th. KVSH has been monitoring the remaining permit numbers through Nebraska Game and Parks. In the Sandhills Unit there are only 86 remaining permits out of 1,020 allotted. In the Keya Paha Unit, there are currently 710 permits remaining from the total of 2,000. Calamus West has 215 permits left from an allotment of 1190. That num

Knights FB in Quarter Finals on KVSH
KVSH Radio has made arrangements to carry the Sandhills Thedford Knights playoff game against St. Mary’s in O’Neill this Friday. The Knights take an 8 and 2 record into the quarter-final game against St Mary’s who are 10 and 0. Kick off will be at 5PM on KVSH with Birk Burge calling the game. Lady Badgers Finish VB Season 23-10
Nina Nelson Photo The Valentine Lady Badgers wrapped up a fantastic Volleyball season on Saturday in the district final in West Point Nebraska. Despite the season ending loss to Guardian Angles Central Catholic, the girls completed what may be the best volleyball season on record with 23 wins and only 10 losses. The Badgers will graduate 1 senior in Ashlyn Hutchinson who was a leader and big hitter for the Badgers. This year’s team had two juniors, and the rest of the team

Rough Week in Prediction contest
It was the roughest week so far in the KVSH Pigskin Prediction Contest. With losses by Auburn, Tennessee, Boise State and Nebraska, it took a card with only three wrong to win. There were 18 cards with 4 wrong, 26 cards with 5 misses and another 26 cards with 6 wrong. Numerous people missed seven or even 8 on the card. Rhule Signs Contract with Huskers
The University of Nebraska and Head Coach Matt Rhule have agreed to a two-year contract extension that extends Rhule’s agreement through the 2032 season. Lady Badgers Qualify for District Final
The Valentine Lady Badgers Volleyball squad defeated Perkins County in the Sub-District final on Wednesday evening at Valentine High School gym. The Lady Plainsmen won the first two sets in close scores, but Valentine came back and won sets 3, 4 and 5 to win the match and qualify for District final this Saturday. Updated Firearm Deer Permit Numbers
The Nebraska Firearm deer hunting season is only a couple weeks away beginning on November 15th. KVSH checked into the remaining permit numbers through Nebraska Game and Parks. In the Sandhills Unit there are only 158 remaining permits out of 1,020 allotted. This was a reduction in the total number of permits for the unit. KVSH Pigskin Prediction
Loyalty in the KVSH Pigskin Prediction contest this week cost almost everyone at least one wrong on their card. There were sixteen cards that only missed the Nebraska game, so kudos to them for staying loyal. The Penn State loss to Iowa and Cody Kilgore loss to Sioux County were a couple of the most missed games on this week's card. There was one perfect card this week. Adamson Wins Tie Down at Badlands Circuit
J.T. Adamson of Cody won the Calf Roping average at the Badland Circuit Finals Pro Rodeo this past weekend in Minot North Dakota. JT tied for 4th place in the first go-round with a time of 9.8 second. He was also 4th in the 2nd go with a time of 10 flat. The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team began a stretch of three straight road matches with a sweep win at No. 12 Purdue on Sunday in front of 2,415 at Holloway Gymnasium.
