Local Youth Athletes Compete In Rosebud Triathalon

A team of Valentine Middle School athletes made an impressive showing at the Kheya Ki Triathlon in Rosebud yesterday (Sunday August 23rd.)

The Sinte Gleska University Wellness Club hosted the event at Indian Scout

Lake, bringing together three-person teams for a swim, run and bike

competition.

Brothers Wade Daugherty and Duke Daugherty teamed up with their friend

River Ruby — and the trio got off to a strong start.

River was the first swimmer to finish the swim portion of the race, giving

the team an early lead.

There was no youth division, so the young athletes competed on the same

course as the other teams. Making their *fourth place* finish very

impressive.
