R-CALF USA Responds To Latest Case of New World Screwworm On US/Mexico Border
A third case of New World Screwworm has been reported near the US border. Billings, Mont., Dec. 4 – Media reports indicate that on Dec. 2 the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) confirmed the third case of New World Screwworm (NWS) in close proximity to the United States border. Economic Indicators Slip in November
For the third time in the past five months, the Creighton University Mid-America Business Conditions Index, a leading economic indicator for the nine-state region stretching from Minnesota to Arkansas, moved slightly below growth neutral. A 76-year-old man from Ashby found guilty of shooting a friend following a night of drinking will be spending at least five years behind bars. A firearms charge carries a mandatory 5 year minimum. After completing the Big Ten’s first 20-0 campaign since 2009, the Nebraska volleyball program was well represented in the Big Ten Volleyball Postseason Honors announced on Tuesday. Disabled Veterans In Nebraska To Qualify For Tax Exemption On Vehicle Registration in 2026.
LB 650 allows disabled veterans to apply for tax exemption on their primary transportation. LB 650 recently passed the Nebraska Unicameral allowing disabled veterans an opportunity to receive a tax exemption for their primary transportation vehicle. Daugherty and Gierau Win final Week of Prediction Contest on KVSH
There were a couple of twists in the final week of the KVSH Pigskin Prediction Contest. The first hurdle that tripped a lot of participants was the Texas win over Texas A&M. Another hurdle was Vanderbilt beating Tennessee and the final step was Nebraska losing to Iowa. Still there were 7 people who missed only one game. CCVPB Continue to Work Toward Events Center
The Cherry County Visitors Promotion Board continues to raise funds for a new events center which would be connected to the South side of Mid Plains Community college campus in Valentine. The total cost of the project is about 4.5 million dollars. At this time, they have 1.5 million dollars from the county promotion fund and have raised over $600,000. October Traffic Fatalities Down in NE
State Transportation officials say 17 people lost their lives on Nebraska roadways in the month of October, down significantly from the 25 fatalities recorded the same time last year. Of the 12 vehicle occupants killed, five were not restrained, two were using a seat belt and five others were unknown.
