Childcare Facility Getting Closer in Valentine

The topic of quality childcare in the Valentine community has been discussed for a number of years. Some exciting news from The Valentine Children and Families Coalition, the Heart City Childcare facility will open soon.  According to coalition director Jill Austin, Andrea Egger has been hired to run the facility which will be located at the Episcopal Church on Main Street.  Egger is former teacher in the Cody Kilgore school system. To begin the facility will be able to accept 8 children, then expand to 12 hopefully in the first few months with the addition of one employee.

This has been a two year project according to Austin, the first year to work out details with the church and then construction started in February of this year making sure everything was up to code for a licensed, professional childcare. Austin told KVSH News that an exact opening date will depend on the state licensing being approved but she hopes to be open in the next month if possible.
