Economic Indicators Slip in November

For the third time in the past five months, the Creighton University Mid-America Business Conditions Index, a leading economic indicator for the nine-state region stretching from Minnesota to Arkansas, moved slightly below growth neutral. 

The Business Conditions Index, dropped slightly to 49.5 from 50.5 in October.  

The November employment index increased to 47.6 from 46.9 in October, marking the eighth consecutive month below the growth-neutral threshold of 50.0.

The November price gauge declined to 59.8, its lowest reading this year, and down from 62.9 in October.

In Nebraska the Index dropped to 50.3 from October’s 52.9.

In South Dakota, The Index declined to 49.1 from October’s 51.2.
