State Transportation officials say 17 people lost their lives on Nebraska roadways in the month of October, down significantly from the 25 fatalities recorded the same time last year.
Of the 12 vehicle occupants killed, five were not restrained, two were using a seat belt and five others were unknown.
Two fatalities were pedestrians, two were motorcyclists, and one was riding an electric tricycle.
To date, 182 people have died on Nebraska roads, nearly 18 percent fewer than the 221 as of October 2024.
