According to Valentine City Manager Shane Seiwart, the chlorination of the city’s municipal water system has come to an end. KVSH News reported earlier that the City of Valentine began adding chlorine to the municipal water supply on November 14. According to a release from the city, recent routine testing had identified a limited number of positive results for coliform bacteria in the distribution system. However with the testing coming in at acceptable levels, the water department was able to end the process late Wednesday. There may still be some residual chlorine smell or taste for a couple of days while the system eliminates the water that had been treated, but that should dissipate soon.
