Badger Medal 3 at State Finals
Jehki Williams finished his Senior season with a 48 and 3 record and a 2nd place medal at the state championships in Omaha. Deklin Titus finished 4th with a season record of 37 and 12 as a Junior. Gregory Police Department Request Help From Public To Find Wanted Fugitive
Bryan Groehler is considered armed and dangerous. According to a Gregory, SD Police Department social media post, law enforcement is seeking the help of the public locating Bryan Groehler. He is a wanted fugitive from Colorado and is known to have been in the area recently. If you see him or the vehicle, do not approach, as he is considered armed and dangerous. Multiple Area Fire Departments Battle Fire South of Long Pine, Bassett
Several fire departments worked to fight a fast moving fire in northern Brown and Rock counties. 2 Sets of Siblings will compete for Badgers at State
Among the 12 Badger wrestlers that have qualified for individual state championships, there are two sets of siblings that will compete in Omaha this week. Bayley Burdick, a freshman on the girls’ team, has qualified for her first championships, while older brother Trevor is a returning state medalist as a junior. The Burdicks are the children of Byron and Julia Burdick from Wood Lake. Bayley will wrestle at 115 and Trevor at 157. The other siblings are returning qualifiers

Successful 25th annual Bull Bash
The 25th annual Bull Bash on Valentine’s Main Street enjoyed unseasonably warm weather on Saturday. Numerous area residents turned out to enjoy the day with over 20 pens of bulls, horses and commercial exhibits. Garrett Leonard won the Ruger model 77 rifle which was given away by the Bull Bash committee with proceeds going to Valentine and Cody Kilgore FFA groups. Valentine Marathon Donates Over $1000 to Valentine Community Schools Foundation

Valentine City Council Appoints Kieborz to Council In Arnold's Absence

Valentine Bomgaars chose the Cherry County Hospital to benefit from their Ladies' Night promotion. On November 2, 2025, Bomgaars held a Ladies' Night event with storewide sales and discounts. Semi Truck Involved In Motor Vehicle Accident Near Cherry, Thomas County Line
The accident happened midday Wednesday Emergency crews responded to a midday motor vehicle incident involving a semi-truck south of Valentine around the Brownlee turnoff on south Highway 83. Listener reports stated that Thedford Ambulance, Cherry County Sheriff and Thomas County Sheriff's Department all responded along with the Nebraska State Patrol. Retail Sales Stagnant for November 2024
According to the Nebraska Department of Revenue, retail sales were pretty much stagnant for many communities in November. This is the latest month that figures are available. Valentine had about 5.5 million dollars in retail sales which was down less than a half percent from 2024. Ainsworth dropped 5.7% when compared to the previous year. Chadron was also down slightly over 3%. Hooker County was down 16% and Thomas County Down 9%. Some communities did see an increase with
