Retail Sales Stagnant for November 2024

According to the Nebraska Department of Revenue, retail sales were pretty much stagnant for many communities in November.  This is the latest month that figures are available.

Valentine had about 5.5 million dollars in retail sales which was down less than a half percent from 2024.  Ainsworth dropped 5.7% when compared to the previous year. Chadron was also down slightly over 3%.  Hooker County was down 16% and Thomas County Down 9%.

 Some communities did see an increase with Broken Bow up a modest 2%, O’Neill was up a decent 9%. 

Larger communities also struggled with North Platte only up 2% when compared to 2024, Grand Island was up 1.9% and Lincoln up less than 1%. Omaha was down 1%.
