KVSH Pigskin Prediction
Loyalty in the KVSH Pigskin Prediction contest this week cost almost everyone at least one wrong on their card. There were sixteen cards that only missed the Nebraska game, so kudos to them for staying loyal. The Penn State loss to Iowa and Cody Kilgore loss to Sioux County were a couple of the most missed games on this week's card. There was one perfect card this week. Memorial service for Caitlin Huggins age 42 of Valentine will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Valentine. Week In Review, October 12 - October 18 During the week of October 12th to October 18th, the following arrests were made by the Valentine Police Department: On October 18th, at approximately 4:00 PM, officers responded to a welfare check request in the Valentine City Park. Two Comets Visible
Two bright green comets are streaming through the skies and are visible to skygazers in the Northern Hemisphere. Comet Lemmon will have its closest brush with Earth on or around Tuesday (Oct. 21, 2025). 4th Street Construction to be done soon
The construction project on West 4th Street (HWY 83 North) is nearing completion. Placement of the concrete roadway and sidewalks is complete. Soon the countdown traffic signals will be retired, and normal traffic conditions will resume. Hospital 50th Anniversary
The Cherry County Hospital is celebrated its 50th anniversary at the location on Green Street Wednesday afternoon with coffee and cookies. Members of the public were invited to reminisce with former staff, doctors and administrators during the event. They also had several displays from the hospital over the years. 50th Celebration for CCH
The Cherry County Hospital is celebrating its 50th anniversary at the location on Green Street this afternoon with coffee and cookies from 4 to 7PM. The original Sandhills General Hospital was a two-story building run by Father Blaire and operated by two sisters in 1912. Adamson Wins Tie Down at Badlands Circuit
J.T. Adamson of Cody won the Calf Roping average at the Badland Circuit Finals Pro Rodeo this past weekend in Minot North Dakota. JT tied for 4th place in the first go-round with a time of 9.8 second. He was also 4th in the 2nd go with a time of 10 flat. It’s Time Valentine fund raising efforts continued Saturday night with the reverse raffle held at the former Shopko Building in Valentine. There were 260 tickets sold, so the jackpot was a total of $11,000. Tickets were removed from the board in a countdown fashion until the top ten were left. You had to have a perfect card to win any money in this week’s KVSH Pigskin Prediction contest. There were 12 perfect cards turned in.
