4th Street Construction to be done soon

The construction project on West 4th Street (HWY 83 North) is nearing completion.

Placement of the concrete roadway and sidewalks is complete. Soon the countdown traffic signals will be retired, and normal traffic conditions will resume. Expect the remaining work, grading to finish slopes and placement of erosion control, to be

completed under work zones along the shoulder. Use caution and reduce speeds when workers are present.

City Steets used for the project detour, 3rd Street and Edna Street, have been returned to preconstruction conditions. Placement of sod along 3rd Street is scheduled for next week, weather permitting.

The project is a success. The contractors did a great job of planning and scheduling work.

Scheduled completion of this project is late October.
