Grass Fire Overnight Burns Small Area Of Grass Monday Night
The fire was thought to have been caused by a power line issue. Another grass fire around midnight Monday night led to another outing by the Valentine Volunteer Fire Department and Cherry County Hospital Ambulance Service. According to Chief Terry Engels, the fire was likely caused by power line issues, and burned only a small amount of grass near Birch Street on the southwest corner of Valentine.

Quick Response By Area Firemen Keeps Acreage To A Minimum In Smith Falls Road Fire
Multiple departments responded to the fire Sunday south of Highway 12. Just after 2pm, the Valentine Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of a large, fast moving fire in the canyon area south of Highway 12 just off of Smith Falls Road. Valentine City Pool To Open Monday
Cool temperatures prevented the pool from opening on Memorial Day. Cooler temperatures last week prevented the water at the Valentine City Pool to warm up enough to allow the Aquatic Center to open on their regularly scheduled opening day on Memorial Day Monday. Tractor Fire Prompts Response From Valentine Firemen
Firemen were dispatched to the tractor fire at about 2:10pm on Tuesday The Valentine Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of a tractor fire about a mile south of the “Y” on Highway 83. The call came in at about 2:10pm.
