As we get closer to completion of the construction on Highway 83 from Main Street to the Minnechaduza bridge, crews are looking to wind things down. Construction crews are in the process of removing temporary corner curbs and gutters that were used for detour during construction of the Highway 83 North project in Valentine. Work includes returning city streets to conditions before detoured traffic.

The wider turning corners for larger vehicles will not be needed at the corners of 3rd and Cherry Street and 3rd and Edna.  The temporary curb and gutters will be removed and the corners put back to the normal sharper turns.

We could still be a month away from two-way traffic returning to the area on 83.

Phase 4 construction, building the southbound lane between the Minnechaduza Creek

bridge and the intersection of Edna Street is in progress. Removal of the existing

concrete is complete, grading is underway, and soon placement of the 9-inch doweled

concrete roadway will begin.

This construction will continue under one-lane traffic, with count down stop lights. The work is on schedule with project completion scheduled for this fall.
