Two Vehicle Accident Prompts Emergency Response to the "Y"

Emergency crews responded to the accident just before 8am

Just before 8am Friday, Cherry County Dispatch notified Valentine Volunteer Fire Department and Cherry County Hospital Ambulance Service of a two vehicle accident at the junction of Highways 20 and 83 southeast of Valentine. The accident at the "Y" consisted of a semi and a box truck. According to radio traffic, the only occupants were the drivers of the trucks. Both were out of their vehicles by the time emergency crews had arrived. The Nebraska Department of Transportation was requested to do some cleanup of debris on the highway. Slick road conditions were being reported in the area around the time of the accident, but the cause of the wreck was not released to KVSH at this time.
