Firemen Respond To House Fire In Valentine

The Valentine Volunteer Fire Department and Cherry County Hospital Ambulance Service responded to the report of a house fire on the 300 block of Victoria Street just after 11pm Wednesday.  According to radio traffic from Cherry County Dispatch, there was reportedly a person in the house at the time of the fire.  Responders found smoke rolling out of some of the windows of the house upon arrival.  Shortly after arriving on the scene of the blaze, firemen did locate one person in the house who was transported by ambulance to the Cherry County Hospital.  That person’s condition has not been released.  Valentine Fire Chief Terry Engels stated that there was significant damage to the home, and that the state fire marshal’s office is investigating.  Valentine Police Department and Cherry County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the call.
