Valentine's One Act Team did well at Districts in Bridgeport The Valentine High School One Act team finished their season with district competition in Bridgeport. The team earned 4th place, with the technical crew receiving third place. Praise Maunu and Camilla Brown were recognized as the outstanding actors from Valentine, and Camilla Brown was awarded one of two NSAA Outstanding Actor medals for the entire competition. There were a couple of twists in the final week of the KVSH Pigskin Prediction Contest.  The first hurdle that tripped a lot of participants was the Texas win over Texas A&M.  Another hurdle was Vanderbilt beating Tennessee and the final step was Nebraska losing to Iowa. The Cherry County Visitors Promotion Board continues to raise funds for a new events center which would be connected to the South side of Mid Plains Community college campus in Valentine. The total cost of the project is about 4.5 million dollars.  At this time, they have 1.5 million dollars from the county promotion fund and have raised over $600,000.  They will need to raise another 1 million dollars before some foundation grants will kick in additional funding.  Mid Plains
