The Cherry County Hospital Ambulance Service had another very busy year in 2025.  According to statistics from squad vice president Billie Brockley,  Cherry County EMS responded to 667 calls in the past year.  Most of these calls represent 911 calls in the Valentine area and medical transfers, but many were generated as mutual aid calls made to the service by the Rosebud Ambulance Service as well as other calls throughout Cherry County.  There were also quite a few standby calls as well, from helping Valentine and Cody Kilgore schools with their sports to working alongside the Valentine Volunteer Fire Department with structure fires and of course a lot of rodeos this year.

There are currently 26 members on the ambulance roster.  If you are interested in either driving for the service or taking some classes to get an EMS license, check with one of the current members or go to the Cherry County Hospital website.
