Middle School Basketball Starts Season in Chadron

Badgers were on the road last weekend.

Brandi Daugherty - Valentine Middle School’s boys’ basketball teams opened their season Saturday with a pair of losses on the road in Chadron.

In the B game, the Badgers kept things close but came up short, falling 25 to 18.

The A team struggled early, spotting Chadron an 11‑point lead in the first quarter. Valentine rallied late — outscoring the Cardinals 15 to 5 in the fourth — but the early hole was too much to climb out of. The final in the A game was 43 to 27.

Both teams return to action tomorrow as they travel to Winner, hoping to turn those first‑game lessons into their first wins of the season.
