Cherry County GOP Announces It's County Convention Date

Delegates must now register through the Nebraska GOP

The Nebraska Republican Party announced that registration is open for Republicans interested in serving as delegates to their 2026 county conventions and  the 2026 Nebraska Republican Party State Convention.

Any registered Republican voter in Nebraska may register to serve as a delegate.  Delegate registration is open through March 1, 2026 with a $5 filing fee required.  Registration must be completed during this period to be eligible to participate as a seated delegate.  Registration may be completed through their website, www.ne.gop.

County conventions are a cornerstone in the GOP’s grassroots process.  Held every two years, these local meetings are where county party officers are elected and delegates are selected to represent each county at the state convention, helping guide the party’s direction.

“Serving as a delegate is one of the most direct ways Republicans can make their voices heard,” said Mary Jane Truemper, Chairman of the Nebraska Repubican Party.  “Our conty conventions are where grassroots Republicans come together to shape leadership and priorities, and we encourage anyone who wants to be involved to take part.”

According to Cherry County GOP Chair Craig Miles, the Nebrsaka Republican Party of Cherry County convention will be held on Saturday, March 21^st at 2pm at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in the 4-H building.  All individuals wishing to serve as delegates must register with the Nebraska Republican Party using the official delegate registration process.  Visit https://ne.gop/delegateform and complete the registration form with your name, address, county, and contact information.  Once you’ve done this, Submit the required $5 delegate filing fee by credit card. You may also request a Personalized Paper Form: Contact the Nebraska Republican Party at (402) 475-2122 or admin@ne.gop to request a personalized paper form be mailed to you. Complete the form in full, have it notarized, include a $5 filing fee (check or money order payable to NEGOP), and mail it in a stamped envelope to: Nebraska Republican Party, 1610 N St., Lincoln, NE 68508. Must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2026.

Phone Registration: Call the Nebraska Republican Party at (402) 475-2122 during business hours. Staff will enter your information directly into the registration system over the phone and process your $5 filing fee (credit card accepted). Registration is complete upon payment confirmation.
