Chamber to Poll Members before hiring new director.

The Valentine Chamber of Commerce has made the decision to cancel the annual Cork Thorton Memorial Ice Fishing Tournament.  Persistent unsafe ice conditions prompted the eventual cancellation as of Wednesday.

In other chamber news, Director Jenny Moore announced her resignation from that position.  Chamber President Zane Limbach confirmed the resignation to KVSH News this morning. Jenny will stay on through Valentines Day.

In a meeting held on Friday morning, the board agreed to conduct a feasibility study to help determine the future of the organization. The chamber will plan to communicate with every chamber member in person, to help determine what the membership feels the organization should or should not be doing in the future. This will be an opportunity for members to voice their opinions to help enhance the effectiveness of the chamber prior to them hiring a new director.

There was no time frame discussed for hiring a new director.
