Cherry County Dispatch reported multiple occupants in the Sunday afternoon accident. A two vehicle accident Sunday afternoon prompted emergency response from local first responders. Bird Count Coming Up Dec 16th

VHS One Act Team Finishes 4rd at Districts, Tech Crew Gets 3rd.
Valentine's One Act Team did well at Districts in Bridgeport The Valentine High School One Act team finished their season with district competition in Bridgeport. The team earned 4th place, with the technical crew receiving third place. Praise Maunu and Camilla Brown were recognized as the outstanding actors from Valentine, and Camilla Brown was awarded one of two NSAA Outstanding Actor medals for the entire competition. Planned Water Outage Prompting Early Dismissal Monday At VMS

St Francis School Receives Culinary Grant
St. Francis Indian School at St. Francis, is one of 48 high schools across the country to receive a $5,000 Rachael Ray Foundation ProStart Grow Grant for its ProStart culinary career and technical education program. A 76-year-old man from Ashby found guilty of shooting a friend following a night of drinking will be spending at least five years behind bars. A firearms charge carries a mandatory 5 year minimum. After completing the Big Ten’s first 20-0 campaign since 2009, the Nebraska volleyball program was well represented in the Big Ten Volleyball Postseason Honors announced on Tuesday. Disabled Veterans In Nebraska To Qualify For Tax Exemption On Vehicle Registration in 2026.
LB 650 allows disabled veterans to apply for tax exemption on their primary transportation. LB 650 recently passed the Nebraska Unicameral allowing disabled veterans an opportunity to receive a tax exemption for their primary transportation vehicle. Daugherty and Gierau Win final Week of Prediction Contest on KVSH
There were a couple of twists in the final week of the KVSH Pigskin Prediction Contest. The first hurdle that tripped a lot of participants was the Texas win over Texas A&M. Another hurdle was Vanderbilt beating Tennessee and the final step was Nebraska losing to Iowa. Still there were 7 people who missed only one game. CCVPB Continue to Work Toward Events Center
The Cherry County Visitors Promotion Board continues to raise funds for a new events center which would be connected to the South side of Mid Plains Community college campus in Valentine. The total cost of the project is about 4.5 million dollars. At this time, they have 1.5 million dollars from the county promotion fund and have raised over $600,000. They will need to raise another 1 million dollars before some foundation grants will kick in additional funding. Mid Plains
