County Posts Tax Valuations

Cherry County Assessor Melissa Bancroft reported that the 2026 tax assessment roll is complete and notice of valuation changes have been mailed to property owners.  Valuation protests may be filed with the Cherry County Board of Equalization until June 30th.  Statute states that these ratios be made public on or before June 6th.  The 2026 measures for Cherry County will mean property will be valued for tax purposes at the following rates

Residential property will be taxed at 95% of actual value.

Commercial will be 99%

Agricultural land at 70%

Cody Kilgore School Bond value for Agricultural land will be 46%.

The Cherry County Commissioners have the power to review and equalize assessments of property, but a protest must be filed in the clerks office before June 30th.
