The women’s Husker Basketball team celebrated hearing their name called for the third consecutive year, when the 68 bids for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship were announced during the ESPN Selection Show on Sunday evening. Three of the four teams the Badgers lost to are in the class C1 state tournament this week. The Valentine boy's basketball team bested Hemingford Monday night in the district final game to earn a trip to the state tournament for the first time in 22 years. Bayley Burdick, a freshman on the girls’ team, has qualified for her first championships, while older brother Trevor is a returning state medalist as a junior. Several Certification Classes Will Be Held In Nebraska The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will certify Youth Fishing Instructors at five locations across the state this spring. Three Badgers finished in double figures with seventh grader Tilden Foster scoring the most points for his team. Earlier in the evening, Valentine had big wins with the C team winning 11-2 and the B team dominating 46-15.
