NU Men and Women Make NCAA Tourny
The women’s Husker Basketball team celebrated hearing their name called for the third consecutive year, when the 68 bids for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship were announced during the ESPN Selection Show on Sunday evening. Nebraska earned a No. 11 seed in the tournament and will face fellow No. 11 seed Richmond in the First Four in Durham, N.C., on Wednesday, March 18. Boys Finish Great Season at 23 and 4
Chris Mosner photo The Badger boys’ basketball, team concluded a tremendous season finishing at 23 and 4 for the year. Three of the four teams the Badgers lost to are in the class C1 state tournament this week. The boys lost in overtime 57 to 56 to Freeman in the first round of the class C2 state tournament on a last second shot. Badgers off to State Basketball
The Valentine Badger Boys Basketball team were given a fire department escort as they left town for the state basketball tournament in Lincoln. The boys will face number 6 seed Freeman at 3:15 Wednesday at The Devaney Center. Birk Burge will cover all the boy's games at state. Badger Boys Headed to Lincoln
The Valentine boy's basketball team bested Hemingford Monday night in the district final game to earn a trip to the state tournament for the first time in 22 years. Valentine dominated the game, winning 99 to 57. Isaac Cronin had an unofficial 40 points and was named Farm Bureau Insurance Player of the Game.

Badger Medal 3 at State Finals
Jehki Williams finished his Senior season with a 48 and 3 record and a 2nd place medal at the state championships in Omaha. Deklin Titus finished 4th with a season record of 37 and 12 as a Junior. VMS Basketball Defeats Todd County
Thanks Brandi Daugherty The middle school boys' basketball team concluded its season on Tuesday night with a 43–33 victory over Todd County. The offense was led by seventh graders Banks Beebout, Tilden Foster, and Wade Daugherty, who each scored in double figures. With this win, the team finishes the season with a solid 6-5 record. 2 Sets of Siblings will compete for Badgers at State
Among the 12 Badger wrestlers that have qualified for individual state championships, there are two sets of siblings that will compete in Omaha this week. Bayley Burdick, a freshman on the girls’ team, has qualified for her first championships, while older brother Trevor is a returning state medalist as a junior. 6 Lady Badgers qualify for State
The Valentine Lady Badgers wrestling team finished in 3rd place overall at the District B4 wrestling tournament held in Ogallala on February 6th and 7th. there were 36 schools represented ranging from Wayne and Fort Calhoon to Bayard and Bridgeport. The Badger's entered 11 girls in the tournament with over half qualifying for state on February 17th and 18th in Omaha. Become A Certified Youth Fishing Instructor
Several Certification Classes Will Be Held In Nebraska The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will certify Youth Fishing Instructors at five locations across the state this spring. These instructors, who will become part of Game and Parks’ Youth Fishing Program, will receive training and tools to conduct youth fishing clinics. Middle School Basketball Competes Against Bennett County
Valentine did well Monday. Thanks Brandi Daugherty for the information! In a look at middle school boys' basketball action, Monday night the A team game went into double overtime with the Bennett County Warriors pulling out a 44-47 win. Three Badgers finished in double figures with seventh grader Tilden Foster scoring the most points for his team. Earlier in the evening, Valentine had big wins with the C team winning 11-2 and the B team dominating 46-15.
