Wreaths Across America Still Reaching for Goal of 900 Wreaths
December 13th will be National Wreaths Across America Day. The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 90 has organized the local program to honor heroes. Listeners can purchase a wreath for $17 and it will be placed on a veteran’s grave at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine on the 13th. You can purchase a wreath for a specific grave site or donate to make sure all veterans’ graves have a wreath. Currently the auxiliary has only sold 454 wreathes. The goal has been 900 to make sure a

Vietnam Vets Tell Their Story
Interviewers with a program called "Project Share Your Story", by the Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation are in Valentine today to collect veterans’ stories. They plan to collect 8 stories from area Vietnam Era Veterans and share those stories via their website. City of Valentine Temporarily Chlorinating Water Supply

County Sheriff Responds to Weekend Incidents
According to Cherry County sheriff Rusty Osburn, authorities were called for three incidents over the weekend. A complaint of shots fired in Kilgore turned out to be a person doing some target practice in the wrong location. The person was arrested due to circumstances. Big Game Meeting Across the State
Hunters and landowners are encouraged to offer their feedback on big game information during the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s public meetings in December and January. These 2½-hour meetings are scheduled in each Game and Parks district. All in-person meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. local time. Multiple Fire Departments Respond To Fire On McKelvie Saturday.
The fire was reported at about 2:40pm Saturday afternoon. Large Grass Fire Burns 12-1700 Acres In Mullen Area

The benefit Spaghetti Feed and silent auction for Brooklyn Coyle was held on November 9th at Niobrara Valley Vineyards South of Nenzel. 25 Years Ago
It was 25 years ago today (Nov 11) when a herd of longhorn cattle were driven down Valentine’s Main Street moving them from Fort Niobrara refuge to Fort Robinson State Park. Cowboys on horseback led the cattle drive when 160 longhorns were moved to their new home near Crawford. Volunteers joined wranglers from the state Game and Parks Commission when the longhorns were moved in the 8 day cattle drive.
