Badgers off to State Basketball
The Valentine Badger Boys Basketball team were given a fire department escort as they left town for the state basketball tournament in Lincoln. The boys will face number 6 seed Freeman at 3:15 Wednesday at The Devaney Center. Birk Burge will cover all the boy's games at state. 1100 Acres Prescribed Fire Scheduled Now for Tuesday at Halsey
The Bessey Ranger District’s prescribed burn of around 1,100 acres has resumed today and will continue as conditions allow. The burn area is located roughly 8 miles west of Halsey, Nebraska, within the Chokecherry allotment south of Forest Service Road 203 and west of Forest Service Road 212. After visiting with a representative of the Forest Service there was a breakdown in communications about postponing the fire from Monday. There have created a new email contact as well

City of Valentine Beginning Construction of Interceptor Sewer Line
The project should be done in the fall The City of Valentine is working on installing a new sewer interceptor line after decades of talk and planning. Badger Boys Headed to Lincoln
The Valentine boy's basketball team bested Hemingford Monday night in the district final game to earn a trip to the state tournament for the first time in 22 years.
