VPD Weekly Report

During the week of 12/7/25 to 12/13/25, the following arrest was reported by the Valentine Police Department:

On 12/11/25, at approximately 2:15 AM, a 31 year old Nebraska woman was arrested in the 400 block of North Ray Street.  She was charged with Disturbing the Peace and transported to the Cherry County Jail.

During the week, officers responded to 24 calls for service, including:

10 traffic stops

5 non-injury vehicle accidents

1 vehicle accident with injury

1 disturbance

1 business alarm

According to Police Chief Slama, The increase in motor vehicle accidents was at least partially accounted for by the return of winter driving conditions.  Drivers are reminded to take road and weather conditions into account and drive with caution.  Please adjust your speed and give yourself a little extra breaking distance as you approach intersections.
