Retail Sales Higher in June 2026

Hopefully area residents are doing more local shopping which resulted in higher retail sales in Valentine in June.  Summer visitors also contributed to the increase of 11.5% over 2025 June figures. Valentine had sales of over 10.6 million dollars in retail sales in June compared to 9.5 million the previous year. Ainsworth had a decrease of 3.2%, Broken Bow was steady with a year ago, Gordon was down only slightly and Chadron was off by over 12%. 

Larger communities such as Omaha and Lincoln saw a more modest 6% increase.
