VPD Week In Review December 21- 27 2026

VPD responded to a total of 32 calls in the past week.

During the week of December 21st to 27th, the following arrests were made by the

Valentine Police Department:

On 12/24/25, at 2:22 PM, an officer responded to a shoplifting complaint in the 700

block of East Highway 20. A 44 year old South Dakota man was arrested and charged

with theft.

On 12/25/25, at 4:40 PM, a disturbance in the 200 block of South Helen Street led to

the arrest of 35 year old Nebraska man for disturbing the peace.

On 12/27/25, at 2:24 AM, officers responded to a disturbance complaint in the 300

block of North Valentine Street. Two Nebraska men, ages 24 and 31, were arrested

for assault.

In total, the Police Department responded to 32 calls for service during the week,

including:

6 disturbances

4 animal complaints

3 welfare checks

1 non-injury accident

1 theft

1 assault
