Congratulations to DeNiel Ammon, a 13 year old from Valentine who has won the National Poppy Poster contest sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. Ammon's grandmother, Rebekah Cash was the long-time director at the Valentine Area Senior Center.

The American Legion Auxiliary uses the contest to honor those who have served in the U.S. armed forces. The contest is open annually to students in grades 2 through high school and is divided into multiple age divisions.
