Sidewalk Project Wrapping Up In Valentine

The City of Valentine is wrapping up it’s sidewalk expansion project. The effort began last year with an owner occupied grant from the State of Nebraska which had to be used soon, or the city would risk losing that funding. It was decided to use the funds to help fund a project to expand the sidewalk on the north side of 3rd street from Main Street to the Cowboy Trail.
The project is intended to have wider, safer sidewalks for pedestrians.
Daugherty Construction of Valentine is doing the work for the city and the project should be done by mid-September.
