Several Felony Sentences Issued In Cherry County District Court Friday

Cherry County Attorney Eric Scott has announced that in Cherry County District Court on Friday, December 19, 2025, the following sentences were issued:
Victor Ortega, age 36 of Phoenix, Arizona, appeared and was sentenced to 9-18 years in the Nebraska State Penitentiary for the crimes of Terroristic Threats and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.
Nicholas Hamling, age 43, of Valentine, Nebraska, appeared and was sentenced to 5-10 years in the Nebraska State Penitentiary for crimes of Burglery, Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Possession of Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person.
Ashley Happold, age 31, of Ainsworth, Nebraska, appeared and was sentenced to 119 days in the Cherry County Justice Center for Violation of a previously imposed sentence of Probation.
