Retail Sales Up Slightly to Start Summer

The Nebraska Department of Revenue reported the Valentine and Cherry County June 2025 net taxable retail sales numbers compared to 2024. Finally, Valentine seen a slight increase in retail sales. According to the report, Valentine sales were up a modest 3.4%. Cherry County was up 5.6%.
By comparison, Ainsworth was up 6.3% and Brown County was up 7.5%. Other communities saw Broken Bow up 7.2%, Chadron up 2.3%, O’Neill up only 1%, Gordon was up 2.5%. Thomas, Hooker and Kaya Paha Counties were up 5 to 7%.
Valentine reported sales of 9.5 million dollars in June of 2025 compared to 9.2 last year.
