Purdum Residents Win Salsa Challenge

There were 13 entries in the 2026 KVSH Salsa Challenge held Wednesday evening at The Draw Bar in

downtown Valentine. A panel of 3 judges participated in a blind taste test to sample all 13 salsa's which ranged from mild to aggressive medium heat. After tabulating the judges scores, Russ DeNaeyer and Pam Moody DeNaeyer of Purdum, were declared the winners. Not only were they the overall winners, but they took second place as well. The DeNaeyers actually had entered 3 salsa's for this years contest. For their efforts they will receive first place money of $50 and second place money of $25. They will each get a KVSH T-shirt, some Valentine Chamber Bucks and a cup of coffee at Janines Flower Exchange.

Thanks to all of our listeners who submitted entries, our judges and to The Draw Bar for hosting and sponsoring this years contest.
