Octoberfest Event Planned For Saturday In Nenzel, NE
Tim Nollette was our guest on the Monday morning Comment program to talk about the upcoming Nenzel, Nebraska Octoberfest this Saturday. This weekend’s event will feel pretty familiar to a lot of folks in the area who remember the St. Mary’s Bazaar that had been held annually for decades in the community. Mr. Nollette stated that they wanted to do something that tied together the St. Mary’s Catholic Church as well as the history of Nenzel, founded by German immigrant George Nenzel – so this year’s Octoberfest Event will consist of a meal for a free will offering served between 2 and 7pm Mountain Time serving sauerbraten, homemade brats and more including a traditional German dessert. There will also be a 5K run-walk at 2. You can preregister by calling Niobrara Valley Vineyards at 823-4131 or register the day of the event. There will also be kids’ games, and a few fun games for the grown-ups, as well as the old country store.
