Niobrara National Scenic River is welcoming summer with a full
schedule of public events, including Fishing Clinics, Night Sky programs, river-focused programs, and special events celebrating both America’s 250th anniversary and the 35th anniversary of Niobrara National Scenic River’s designation on May 24, 1991.
This season features a mix of returning favorites and new programs designed to help visitors connect with the river’s natural beauty, cultural significance, and nationally recognized values. Highlights include the debut of the Niobrara Art Show and celebration, newly introduced guided Twilight River Walks, and the returning Founders Day guided float, each tied to this year’s commemoration of America’s semiquincentennial.
Building on the strong success of past fishing clinics, they are also launching a special 35th and 250th anniversary Fishing Challenge: participants who attend all clinics and collect every stamp in their booklet will earn a commemorative challenge
coin.
Events will start April 17 with a Night Sky Viewing at Merritt Reservoir, 9 p.m. MT.
