Major Fundraising Effort Successful For Convention Center

Over $5M has been pledged toward the project.

The endeavor to raise 1.5 million dollars in just over one month for the

new events center in Valentine has been successful. Rich Mercure from the

Cherry County Visitors Promotion Board told KVSH they appreciate all the

community support for this community project. An anonymous donor will

match the 1.5 million. This brings the total to over 5 million and allows

them to move forward talking to contractors with construction possible to

begin in 2027 and completion in 2028. They will meet with Mid Plains Community

College on September 21st to review contractors.
