Lady Badgers Finish VB Season 23-10

The Valentine Lady Badgers wrapped up a fantastic Volleyball season on Saturday in the district final in West Point Nebraska. Despite the season ending loss to Guardian Angles Central Catholic, the girls completed what may be the best volleyball season on record with 23 wins and only 10 losses. The Badgers will graduate 1 senior in Ashlyn Hutchinson who was a leader and big hitter for the Badgers. This year’s team had two juniors, and the rest of the team is made up of sophomores and freshmen.
In other area sports, the Mullen Lady Broncos qualified for the state tournament in class D with a win over Archangels Catholic on Saturday. Mullen will play Cambridge on Thursday at 11AM, in the State Tournament.
The Mullen Broncos football team lost to Wynot on Friday 64 to 13 and finished their season at 8 and 2.
The Sandhills Thedford Knights defeated Anselmo Merna on Friday 28 to 20 to advance to semi finals of class D football playoffs. The Knights are 8 and 2 and will play at Saint Mary’s in O’Neill on Friday at 5PM.
