Emergency Crews Respond To Fatal Traffic Incident In Valentine

The accident took place early June 6th

According to the Valentine Police Department, on June 6th, at approximately 1:20 AM, the Valentine Police Department, along with

the Cherry County Sheriff's Office, responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 300

block of West 3rd Street. Additional assistance was dispatch by the Valentine Fire

Department and the Cherry County Ambulance service. The investigation into the

accident concluded that a pickup truck traveling westbound on West Third Street

collided with a horse trailer parked on the side of the street. The pickup truck

rolled onto the driver's side before righting itself and coming to rest. The driver

of the pickup, a 45 year old South Dakota man, sustained serious injuries during the

collision. He was transported to the Cherry County Hospital by ambulance, where he

later succumbed to his injuries.
