Dorsey is the Sandpainters Artist of the Month

Artist of the month for September is David Dorsey a lifelong Nebraska
resident, and Valentine resident since 2012. Dorsey is a full-time artist
who displays his work in various shows throughout the state and on a
national level. His primary focus is on western art, including images of
the people of the plains, and their lifestyle, both past and present.
Charcoal and acrylic are the main mediums that he works in, and he
sometimes breaks from the western themes to do still life as well as Plen
air paintings. He is a signature member of the Assocation of Nebraska Art
Clubs, as well as the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, and
American Plains Artists. Dorsey focuses on realism and capturing those
little things that we sometimes overlook in the everyday life of the men
and women who ranch and live off the land. Nebraska is his home, and an
