County Sheriff Responds to Weekend Incidents

According to Cherry County sheriff Rusty Osburn, authorities were called for three incidents over the weekend.  A complaint of shots fired in Kilgore turned out to be a person doing some target practice in the wrong location. The person was arrested due to circumstances.

 A hunter was reported missing at Valentine National Wildlife Refuge on Sunday.  His partner apparently reported him missing, then went to look for him.  While the one hunter was searching, the one reported missing, returned to the truck on their own.  The other hunter returned later without incident.

The Sheriff also responded to the wildfire at McKelvie National Forest on Saturday afternoon. He reported that his office was not aware of what caused the fire North and West of Merrit Dam.  Stay tuned to KVSH Radio for more details.
