The Sandhills Area Foundation is now accepting applications for community grants. The deadline will be September 30 to get those applications turned in.

Currently the foundation has about $2 million dollars in endowed funds with the interest used for scholarships and community project grants.

In other foundation news, the board is looking for youth ages 15 to 20 from the area that would like to be involved with the foundation.  They would like the Youth Advisory Board Members to demonstrate a strong commitment to volunteerism, philanthropy and supporting area development. The Members will also be encouraged to represent SAF at special events.

For more information about this opportunity, please visit sandhillsareafoundation.com.

On related information, the foundation has received over $18,000 from the round-up program at Scotty’s Ranchland Foods.  These funds are earmarked for scholarships. Director Carolyn Moore also told KVSH that Outback Screen Printing and Embroidery will also be initiating a round-up program in the future.

The Sandhills Area Foundation will be hosting a Sandhills Saloon fund raising event this fall. Stay tuned to KVSH for more details.
