December 13th will be National Wreaths Across America Day. The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 90 has organized the local program to honor heroes. Listeners can purchase a wreath for $17 and it will be placed on a veteran’s grave at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine on the 13th. You can purchase a wreath for a specific grave site or donate to make sure all veterans’ graves have a wreath.
Currently the auxiliary has only sold 454 wreathes. The goal has been 900 to make sure all veterans have one placed on their gravesite in December.
You can scan a QR code on fliers around town or call 402 389 1123 for details on how you can help them reach the goal. If you use the QR code you have until November 28th to complete the transaction.
There will be a short program at Mount Hope at 11AM on December 13th, then the wreaths will be placed. The public is welcome to help with placement.
