Valentine's Postal Cachets Still Get Attention From Thousands Globally

For as long as anyone around here can remember, people from around the country and around the world have sent their mail to the Valentine, NE post office to be postmarked with a cancellation from Valentine, plus a special cache that commemorates the holiday.  And the tradition continues to this day.  Thousands of pieces of mail traditionally move through the postal service for folks looking to get the prized marks from the Cupid’s Capitol this time of year.

 The Chamber of Commerce website advises folks to prepare your valentine or valentines like you were going to mail them yourself, including postage.  Then put them in a larger envelope and mail them to Cupid’s Mailbox, P.O. Box 201, Valentine, NE 69201.
