The Valentine Public Library Foundation, established to encourage private donations and bequests that provide an added “margin of excellence” for the library, has announced a new name. Foundation support enables the library to fund programs, services, and purchases that fall outside the regular operating budget, enhancing opportunities for the entire community.
Recently, the library received a generous bequest from the estate of Karl Busch. This meaningful gift will support expanded programming and future capital improvements, creating a lasting impact for years to come. In recognition of Karl Busch’s generosity, the Foundation will now be known as the Karl Busch Library Foundation.
This change represents a name update only. The Foundation will remain the same legal 501(c)(3) organization, with its mission, financial stewardship, and oversight fully intact.
“Renaming the Foundation allows us to recognize Karl Busch’s legacy while moving forward efficiently, without the delays or complications of creating a new organization,” said Foundation President Shannon Boes.
The Karl Busch Library Foundation is guided by a dedicated board that includes Shannon Boes, Amber Daugherty, Carrie Graham, Bruce Johnson, Angie Jordan, Dedee Markus, and Vicki Simmons.
