Valentine Police Department Requesting Information On Firearms Theft

During the week of June 1st to June 7th, the following arrests were reported by the

Valentine Police Deparment:

On June 3rd at approximately 1:25 AM, a 42 year old South Dakota woman was arrested

on the charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Possession of an Open

Alcohol Container.

On June 5th at 3:18 PM, officers responded to a trespassing complaint in the 900

block of West B Street in Valentine. A 43 year old Nebraska man was arrested and

booked into the Cherry County Jail for the offense of Second Degree Criminal

Trespassing.

During the week officers responded to 47 calls for service, including:

7 traffic stops

7 animal complaints

2 non-injury motor vehicle accidents

3 thefts

3 assaults

2 disturbances

Also, the Police Department has received reports of an apparent scam. Persons

reported receiving a text message that claims to be from the Nebraska Department of

Motor Vehicles which advises the intended victim that they owe fees to the DMV.

Anyone receiving this message is advised to not reply to the message, but delete it

the message without opening it or any hyperlinks that might be embedded in the

message.

On June 6th, at 3:40 PM, a burglary was reported in the 200 block of A Street.
