Valentine Livestock on Thursday had one of the all-time record sales in feeder cattle history. During the day they delivered 12 national records and set all-time highs for several weight of steers from 500 pound to 900 pound calves. The peak came in 8-weights where 189 head, weighing an average of 837 pounds, brought $381 per hundred weight. That’s almost $3,200 per head.
Valentine Livestock now owns three of the top 10, 8-weight sales in US History.
The lighter weights also saw records broken. 30 head of 544 pound steers sold for $5.03 per pound bringing over $2,700 per head. Go to Valentinelivestock.net for a complete market report.
