As you have probably heard on KVSH Radio over the last couple of weeks, John and Lila Miller are retiring from the local True Value on Main Street in Valentine. The local business has been purchased by Matt Sandoz who recently sold his Huskerland store earlier this summer. The current inventory is being liquidated with storewide discounts over the next few weeks, and then True Value will help Sandoz re-stock the store with new inventory along with a few changes.
John and Lila started with Ray Eikoff’s “Coast To Coast” hardware store at 3rd and Main Street. It remained a Coast To Coast store until 1999. John and Lila bought the store in 1998 and after a couple of years, they changed the store to a True Value Hardware store, continuing to sell many of the same kinds of tools, hardware supplies and household items that had always been provided.
The transition is expected to take a few more weeks, and in the meantime there are also new hours, with the store open from 10am to 5pm.
Stay tuned to KVSH Radio for updates as we get closer to the transition.
