Suspect Arrested In Todd County On Multiple Charges

TCSO Press Release - On April 20, 2026, David Charles Jackson Jr. , a non Indian, was stopped by Rosebud Tribal Police near Rosebud, SD on BIA HWY 7. An inquiry showed that Jackson, Jr. had active State and Federal warrants for his arrest.

A subsequent search of his vehicle law enforcement recovered a plastic “baggie” that tested presumptive positive for methampetamine. Also recovered was a Taurus handgun that was stolen out of Oregon.

The Todd County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jackson for Possession of a firearm by one with a prior crime of violence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On April 30, 2026, Jackson pled guilty in the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of South Dakota for the above offenses and was sentenced to one year custody with South Dakota Department of Corrections, court cost of $116.50 and a jail fee of $50.00.

Information is being shared with our Federal partners for possible federal firearms violations.

The case was prosecuted by the Todd County States Attorney.
