Pledges continued to come in even after the radio telethon on Wednesday morning. KVSH teamed up with the Cherry County Visitors Promotion Board to host the radio-thon to help raise money and awareness about the community events center in Valentine.
When the first two hours were done, listeners had pledged over $60,000. During the day more than another $15,000 was pledged to the project. By the end of the day the total came in even higher at $102,400. Thanks to the generous matching offer from Butler Vet Clinic in Valentine, that amount will be doubled to an unofficial $204,800.
Don’t forget the reverse raffle event on October 11th at the former Shopko building. The winner could walk away with $20,000. Tickets are available at the visitor’s center or any board member including Rich Mercure, Kim Epke, Sarah Ferguson, Anne Clark or Greg Nollett.
Area residents are invited to visit a new website to find answers to questions about the events center. The site is; its time valentine.com.
