Controversy continues in Cherry County as Blue Stem Sandhills has filed an appeal to the Board of Adjustments to dispute the findings of Jane Stolzenburg, Cherry County’s planning and zoning administrator concerning the proposed wind farm in the north central portion of the county.
BSH Kilgore filed the appeal in July after Stolzenburg stated that the company had not met all 12 conditions tied to the project, stating also that the company’s permit expired October 15th 2024.
At a recent meeting, County Attorney Eric Scott also disputed some of the findings of the zoning administrator.
The public hearing has been set for 3pm on Thursday, September 4th at the fairgrounds. The hearing is open to the public of course, and if you have any comments to submit, Stolzenburg requests that no less than 6 copies are provided. If you are not able to attend, but would like to have your opinions placed in the record, you may submit your comments to the Zoning office at 365 North Main Street in Valentine Suite 8A.
